Mary Wigham Conversion

I spent some time yesterday, pulling NPI silks to match up the DMC charted on this ever so special Ackworth Quaker Sampler! Wanted to share with you, here is a pic:

A nice fabric medium would be Lakeside's Vintage Light Examplar. The fibers really look great on it!

Conversion from DMC to NPI Silks

DMC NPI
725 ~ 554
407 ~ 204
356 ~ 205
963 ~ 941
3857 ~ 127
3768 ~ 323
3052 ~ 401
ecru ~ 871
930 ~ 746
white ~ 991bb
739 ~ 851
3822~ 552
927 ~ 154
black~ 993
934 ~ 296
352 ~ 532
435 ~ 773
225 ~ 706
3855 ~ 133
433 ~ 766
519 ~ 111
746 ~ 991

Please note, in the original listing of DMC posted on the Needleprint site, there was DMC 966 included. After viewing and downloading the first installment, there is no 966 listed in the color key. If for some reason it turns up later, then 662 NPI is a good conversion for 966 DMC.

I had thought about putting in a few Belle Soie for affect, but not being able to see the entire chart yet, I decided to just list the NPI. They are very good match and will make a lovely palette for this project.

Silks continue to be on sale on Only One Ewe Needleworks website, so please email at sales@onlyoneeweneedlework.com if you are needing any of these, before the 15th!

How many of you will be stitching this lovely? I plan too, but won't start yet, will see how it goes. I have Beatrix Potter in the works, and Sarah Moon kitted up, so will just wait on this one. How about you all?

Thanks again for visiting and all of your lovely comments on my Simply Live finish!:)

Ooooh, that is lovely, Jan! And how nice of you, too, to share your conversion! I don't know if I will stitch this one, I have Sarah Moon started and a bunch of other Quakers kitted but seeing the excitement through out the blog world does tempt me!!

Your conversion looks great! I can't wait to see your start. :) I am debating on this one. I have Beatrix Potter and Sarah Moon started, and two other Needleprint designs waiting in the wings, but it is very tempting to start this one too. I like your fabric choice as well.

Your conversion looks nice! Thanks for posting it for us! I'm another one who isn't sure whether I'm going to stitch this. I'm definitely collecting the charts though. We'll see what happens from there!

Jan - I missed your post on Live Simply, but I love it and your conversion. I've made note of it for when I get around to stitching it (could be awhile). I always think that your conversions and fabric choices are the best and have been the reason I've wanted to start some things (should I call you an enabler???) LOL.

I hadn't planned on stitching Mary, but I may have to. I think I've got a few Quakers (including Beatrice) in the pile, but I've made note of your conversion, because you just never know and just by the picture, I know that I would love your colors! Once I see yours when you start it, I'll probably fall into the fray and do it too.

You are so sweet to share your conversions with all of us!

I liked the Simply Live chart I'd seen around the web but didn't realize it had that much punch to it--so nicely done!

I'm sorely tempted by the Ackworth Quaker. Sorely. And now you've gone and given us a conversion to silks, since I had objected to doing the sampler in DMC.... I'm thinking hard about it, even though I have far too much kitted up and started already.

Jan, those silks look lovely. I look forward to your progress pics once you start!

I will be downloading the chart but will not be starting it any time soon. I have so many still-not-started Quakers, it really isn't even funny! :o/ I need more time! LOL But I like your conversion!!!

Thank you for sharing your conversion to NPI. I would like to use NPI to stitch Mary Wigham. However, I notice DMC 966 was missing from your list. Can you please recommend a NPI color for it? Thank you.

I started last night stitching on my Mary Wigham. I am stitching with the listed DMC cause this is what I have most in stash. For the fabric I have chosen not to go with embroidery fabric at all. Instead I am using an uneavenweave raw linen from India that we usually use for upholstering furniture. I think it will give the sampler a nice antique touch. Thou it will take a while to get used to this fabric.

I am stitching it! I've done a conversion too. I wanted my piece to be more like the actual sampler pictures so I converted the threads to overdyes in much more muted colors :-). It's going to be so much fun to see everyone's progress.

Oh, Jan, a thousand thank yous! I was just thinking tonight about how long it would take me to convert to silk. You've saved me so much time. Now if only some elves would show up to do some cleaning and organizing, I'll have more time to stitch!

The colors are gorgeous, aren't they? I do plan to stitch this one, but I'll start later. I too am stitching Beatrix Potter and have about six motifs left to do.

Your Live Simply sampler is beautiful! Congratulations on the finish.
